Teen admits he was drunk night of Porsche crash, says 'can't remember past events'

Porsche accident in Pune: The 17-year-old son of Pune-based real estate developer Vishal Agarwal, who allegedly mowed down two IT professionals on a bike after hitting them while they were driving drunk on May 19, has admitted to police that He was very drunk when the accident happened. The minor boy admitted during police interrogation that he was heavily drunk while driving and did not remember all the details of the incident. India today reported, citing police sources.

According to Hindustan Times, during the interrogation which lasted more than an hour, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., the teenager declared that he had no memory of the events preceding the accident due to his state of intoxication. The interrogation took place in the presence of his mother, who was arrested on Saturday, as well as crime officials such as Deputy Commissioner of Police Sunil Tambe and the district child protection officer.

The teenager remained unconscious despite repeated questioning, saying he had no memory of his activities before the accident. Earlier on Sunday, a Pune court remanded the 17-year-old boy's parents, Shivani Agarwal and Vishal Agarwal, to judicial custody till June 5 in a case of destruction of evidence. They are accused of tampering with the blood sample.

Following the Pune Porsche accident, attempts were made to establish that the boy was not drunk driving and even his blood samples were exchanged to support this claim.

In connection with this case, the Pune police on Saturday arrested the mother of the 17-year-old minor for tampering with evidence. The arrest came after it was confirmed that the boy's blood samples had been replaced with hers. Notably, the Pune police have so far arrested the boy's father, grandfather and mother (juvenile) from among the family members.
