Teen accused of stabbing woman while she slept

A 15-year-old Gulfport teen has been charged with trying to kill a woman while she slept.

Lexi Jade Brown has been charged with attempted murder and first-degree arson. She was taken to the Harrison County Jail and bail was set at $1.25 million.

On Saturday, Gulfport police were called to the 13000 block of Dee Avenue around 2:33 a.m. in reference to someone who had been mutilated.

On site, they discovered a victim suffering from several stab wounds.

Investigators learned the victim was sleeping when she woke up and found Brown attacking her with a knife, then attempted to start a fire in the residence.

The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

When investigators questioned her, Brown said she planned to kill the victim because she was “weird” and “suppressing the black in her.”
