Teen accused of recklessly driving stolen car in Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A teenager was arrested Thursday after allegedly recklessly driving a stolen car through Nashville and crashing into a house.

The incident began around 1:40 p.m. when the Metropolitan Police helicopter spotted a black 2016 Dodge Charger that had been reported stolen on Monday, June 17.

According to Metro Police, the Charger was observed speeding, driving the wrong way in traffic and doing “burnouts” in the middle of an intersection.

The helicopter followed the Charger until it lost control at 16th Avenue North and Cockrill Street, where it struck a Toyota Corolla, a fence and a house, according to court documents.

The driver, identified as Marcus Stanton, 18, was arrested after fleeing the crash.
