Taunton woman identified as victim of fatal shooting in Dorchester

The woman shot and killed last month in Dorchester was identified Wednesday as Pereshah Shear-Yashub, 27, of Taunton, according to Boston police.

His death was ruled a homicide following an autopsy, said Detective Sergeant John Boyle, the department's chief spokesman.

Shear-Yashub was shot and killed late on the night of May 31. Shortly after 11 p.m., officers responded to an alert from ShotSpotter, an electronic firearm detection system, in the area of ​​36 Edson St., police said.

She was found with a gunshot wound. She was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead, Boyle said.

An autopsy performed June 1 confirmed he died of a gunshot wound and the manner of his death was a homicide, he said.

Police continue to investigate his death. There had been no arrests as of Wednesday evening, Boyle said.
