Tarrant Sheriff's deputies find a man covered in dried blood. They're trying to figure out who owns it

An 18-year-old was found covered in dried blood when Tarrant County sheriff's deputies responded to a crash Monday morning near Markum Ranch and Interstate 20, but investigators say the blood does not appear have no connection with this accident.

The sheriff's office said in a statement Monday that officers were dispatched shortly before 2 a.m. to find Aaron Richard, the driver of a white pickup truck, with “a large amount of dried blood” on him and his truck. They do not believe the blood is Richard's and do not believe it was the result of the accident that deputies were responding to.

Investigators are asking for the public's help in finding out what happened and where the blood came from.

The 1997 Chevrolet single cab pickup had damage to the driver's side front quarter panel, door and tailgate, according to the release. Texas license plate is DFH2650.

A spokesperson for the sheriff's office told the Star-Telegram that officers investigating the crash only involved Richard's vehicle, but were unable to release further details about what happened. happened or which led to the accident.

Investigators also found dried blood inside the truck, on the driver's side and outside the truck bed, according to the release. The sheriff's office did not say in the release whether investigators believed anyone was in danger or had been killed.

Tarrant County court records indicate the sheriff's office is working to file at least one charge against Richard for suspected drunken driving. He was already serving a six-month probation sentence for disorderly conduct in Haltom City.

Tarrant County jail records showed Richard had posted $500 bond on a drunken driving charge, but had yet to be released from jail as of Monday around 5:30 p.m.

His probation began in February, according to court records. A drunk driving charge could also impact his probation as a violation.

Robbie Hoy, the sheriff's office spokesman, said he was unable to provide additional details, including Richard's behavior or apparent state of mind at the time of his arrest. he needed medical attention after the accident or if he had any other criminal history.

He also could not say whether investigators had any leads on a possible victim.
