Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office provides new information in Loranger murder

WDSU has learned more information about the murder of a Loranger mother, her daughter and the kidnapping of her other daughter. Sheriff Daniel Edwards of the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office held a press conference Friday on what they know so far. Edwards says deputies received a tip Wednesday that Victoria Cox was with Callihan at a motel in Jackson, Mississippi. This information was given to authorities in Jackson and Cox was found and detained by US Marshals. The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff says they are still questioning Cox and once they are done they will announce any charges that could be added to his capital murder charge at Jackson. An arrest warrant was obtained for Callihan in Tangipahoa Parish on charges of murder, two counts of kidnapping and armed robbery. He will also be charged with murder in Mississippi. Edwards says the Tangipahoa Parish prosecutor will file the charges and the Jackson prosecutor likely will as well.
