Tampa Walmart closed after altercation, police say

Tampa police said one man was injured and another arrested during an altercation that shut down the Walmart at 1505 N. Dale Mabry Hwy. Saturday afternoon.

The fight took place shortly after 1:30 p.m. inside the store, police said. A man cut another with a knife during an argument, police said. The man who was injured was taken to the hospital with serious injuries but is expected to survive, authorities said. They have not publicly identified him or the man who was arrested.

Confused customers arriving at the store around 2:45 p.m. Saturday found an entrance blocked off with yellow tape. It was not yet known when the store would reopen.

A police spokesperson did not provide further information about what led to the argument or the charges against the arrested man.
