Hyderabad: A massive fire in a six-story building in Kuwait on Wednesday claimed the lives of 49 people, including over 40 Indians, according to reports. The fire also injured up to 30 people.

Nearly 160 people lived in the six-story building, most of them apparently Indians. Earlier, few victims from Kerala were identified by their family members. Now, seven workers who died in the fire have also been identified.

The seven workers from Tamil Nadu who died in the fire are: Veerasamy Marriappan of Thoothukudi district, Ebemason Raja of Trichy district, Krishnasamy Chinnadurai of Cuddalore district, Govidndan Sivasankar of Chennai district, Bunaff Richard Roy of Thanjavur district, Karuppan Ramu of Ramanathapuram district. and Mohammed Sheriff of Villupuram district.
