Sylmar man arrested with assault weapon, ghost gun and extended magazines, officials say

A Sylmar man has been arrested for allegedly selling assault weapons and ghost guns to Ventura County residents.

Sylmar resident Adan Bernardino, 27, was arrested Wednesday after local and federal law enforcement executed a search warrant at his home in the 12000 block of Buckeye Avenue in Los Angeles, the county's office said. Ventura County Sheriff in a press release.

“At this home, investigators discovered a privately made short-barreled shotgun with no serial number, a Micro-Draco pistol that was an assault weapon, and two other firearms that were not registered to Bernardino. », Indicates the press release. “In addition, investigators also discovered numerous boxes of ammunition and high-capacity magazines. »

Bernardino's criminal record prohibits him from possessing weapons or ammunition.

He faces numerous accusations:

  • Offer to sell an assault weapon

  • Own a short-barreled shotgun

  • Possession of an assault weapon

  • Criminal in possession of a firearm

  • Criminal in possession of ammunition

  • Illegal transfers of firearms

  • Criminal conspiracy

Bernardino has since been released on $100,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in Ventura County Superior Court on July 10.
