Sussex County man arrested on drug and other charges following traffic stop | Latest news

LAUREL, DE – A Sussex County man was arrested on drug and other charges following a traffic stop Friday.

On Friday, June 14, at approximately 9 p.m., a Laurel Police Department officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of ​​Little Creek Apartments after observing a traffic violation. During the traffic stop, the driver was in possession of a box containing small plastic bags that appeared to contain illegal drugs, according to LPD. The driver was arrested without incident for further investigation.

Officials said that during a search, “the box was discovered to contain several small bags of crack cocaine individually packaged for sale. We found two other larger bags in the vehicle, along with suspected proceeds of the drug”.

The driver was identified as Heriberto Ortiz-Bedolla, 24, of Laurel. He was charged with the following:

– Possession with intent to deliver level 2 crack cocaine

– Possession of level 2 crack cocaine

– Traffic violations

Heriberto Ortiz-Bedolla was released on $20,001 unsecured bail.
