Suspects arrested in series of robberies targeting TJX retail stores in Southern California

Two suspects have been arrested for allegedly stealing merchandise worth thousands of dollars from retailers in Southern California.

The suspects were identified as Miguel Rosales, 40, of Azusa and Iveth Carrion, 39, of Whittier, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department.

Between September 2023 and May 2024, the couple targeted retailers owned by TJX Companies, including TJ Maxx, Marshalls and HomeGoods, in San Bernardino County.

They escaped with approximately $5,359 in merchandise following multiple thefts, deputies said.

Investigators from the sheriff's Operation Smash and Grab unit investigated the thefts and ultimately identified the suspects.

On June 3, authorities located and arrested Rosales and Carrion for conspiracy to commit commercial burglary.

Upon their arrest, the duo was arrested with approximately $2,000 worth of stolen items in a van.

Arrest photos show a variety of stolen household accessories and items, including a smart TV, Michael Kors tote bags, Nike sneakers, All-Clad kitchenware set, cooler bag Yeti, expensive knife sets, rugs and other miscellaneous merchandise.

The two suspects were detained at the central detention center. Rosales is being held on $50,000 bond and Carrion is being held on $30,000 bond.

The arrest follows a worrying increase in violent thefts at retail stores across the Southland, carried out by organized theft crews.

The sheriff's Operation Smash and Grab unit focuses on thieves targeting the popular shopping districts of Rancho Cucamonga, Chino Hills, Apple Valley, Hesperia and Victorville.
