Suspected impaired driver causes crash near Las Vegas that kills 2 Arizonans, police say

BOULDER CITY, AZ (AZFamily) — A Las Vegas man was arrested after police say he caused a wrong-way crash that killed two Valley people Saturday.

Nevada State Police say Martin Raymond Andino, 37, was heading north in his 2022 Ford F-250 pickup truck in the southbound lanes of Interstate 11 and crashed head-on into a Toyota pickup truck. Tacoma 2016 just east of Boulder. City around 4:15 p.m.

The Ford truck came to rest on the shoulder of I-11 while the Toyota turned clockwise and rolled into the median.

The driver of the Toyota, Virginia Theresa Whiting, 20, of Glendale, and her passenger, Antonio Aguilera, 21, of Phoenix, both died at the scene.

Andino was taken to the hospital and then booked into the Clark County Detention Center on charges of drunken driving and other related charges, police said.

Two children in the Ford were taken to the hospital to be checked out, but are expected to be OK.

An investigation is underway.
