Suspected Gilgo Beach serial killer linked to two other murders: DA

SUFFOLK COUNTY, N.Y. (PIX11) — Six women have been murdered by Rex Heuermann so far, but additional murder charges for other victims are pending.

Prosecutors say they uncovered a serial killer's plan.

The Long Island architect and father is now accused of torturing and killing six women, including Sandra Costilla and Jessica Taylor.

Costilla was found in the North Sea at Southampton in 1993. Taylor's torso was found at Manorville in 2003. Her other limbs were found in 2011 not far from where the Gilgo Four were discovered in 2010.

The case has now extended to other parts of Suffolk County for more than 30 years. Prosecutors now believe Heuermann may have been an active serial killer for much longer than previously suspected and that he changed his method of killing women.

In court, prosecutors said they could place Heuermann near both murders — with his hair near their bodies.

Forensic experts discovered what appeared to be a serial killer's plan on his computer, including disturbing images of abuse and pornography with lists of torture supplies, dumping grounds and targets.

The plan also included how to prepare before a kidnapping and things to remember for the next murder.

According to the Suffolk County prosecutor, the document contains gruesome details that are identical to the methodology used to murder the six victims. The Suffolk district attorney says it's “safe to say” Heuermann is a suspect in the murder of Valerie Mack, whose remains were found near Taylor's body.
