Suspected Gilgo Beach serial killer Rex Heuermann visited a Long Island gun club the day before one of his alleged victims, Jessica Taylor, disappeared — and days before her remains were found in a nearby woods, according to a report.

A diary excerpt revealed that Heuermann was scheduled to attend a rifle training event at the Peconic River Sportsman's Club in Manorville on July 20, 2003, a few days before Taylor's partial remains were found about a mile away from the edge of the shooting club. property on July 26, 2003, Newsday reported.

Heuermann, who was charged with second-degree murder in Taylor's death in an indictment unsealed Thursday, was involved in several “shooting clubs” in the area, a law enforcement source confirmed to Newsday.

He pleaded not guilty to the charges last week.

A spokesperson for the Peconic River Sportsman's Club said that although Heuermann attended “a few” public events in the early 2000s, he was never a member. His last visit for a shooting competition was in April 2010, said club spokesperson Kerry Goldberg.

“Mr. Heuermann was not and is not a member of the Peconic River Sportsman's Club,” Goldberg said. “Mr. Heuermann participated in a few high-powered rifle shooting events at the club, which were open to the public.
