BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A suspected drunk driver crashed into a Wheatfield home early Saturday morning, causing significant structural damage to the residence, the Niagara County Sheriff's Office said.

A home inspector later determined the home was currently habitable due to the accident.

Both occupants of the pickup truck had to be extricated from the vehicle and were treated for minor injuries, while the homeowner was found unharmed inside the residence, according to deputies.

After officers conducted field sobriety tests, the alleged driver of the pickup truck, John Osetkowski, 21, of North Tonawanda, was charged with:

  • Drunk driving – first offense
  • Dangerous driving
  • Second degree reckless endangerment
  • Fourth degree criminal mischief
  • Numerous citations from vehicle law and the highway code
