Suspect stabbed in custody | Daily Dodge

(Randolph) Oscar Danilo Peralta Rivera, 28, of Markesan, was arrested after being stabbed at the Alsum Produce location in Randolph. On Monday, the Columbia County Sheriff's Office Dispatch Center received a 911 call reporting a stabbing that had just occurred at the Alsum Produce facility located on County Highway EF in the Town of Randolph. Several deputies immediately responded to the incident. While officers were en route, it was learned that the suspect had fled the scene. The victim, a man, was transported to hospital by emergency services and his injuries are believed to be life-threatening. The vehicle believed to have been used by the suspect to flee the scene was found abandoned on the side of Highway 151 in the city of Columbus. Officers searched for the suspect using a K-9 and thermal drones, but were unable to locate him at that time. During this investigation, detectives learned that the suspect knew the male victim through a mutually known female victim. The initial investigation shows that this was a targeted attack.
