HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — A search is underway for a suspect who allegedly shot a food delivery driver while he was at work Friday night, according to Houston police.

After the delivery was completed, the suspect allegedly approached him as he was approaching to get back into the car and shot the man in the chest.

Police said the man's wife and child were inside the car at the time of the shooting.

“The man returned to his car and continued down the street. Our officers encountered the complainant and found him just down the street. They began providing first aid using 'a chest seal,' Campbell said.

The victim was taken to hospital, where police said he was in stable condition.

The woman and child were not injured.
