Suspect shoots into traffic near International Park, police say

Gunfire struck a vehicle during the incident, police said in a statement.

TOLEDO, Ohio — Police are investigating an incident in east Toledo in which a suspect allegedly fired a gun at vehicles passing near a park.

According to a Toledo police report, officers went to International Park on Main Street around 3:30 p.m. Monday after receiving several calls that a man was using a rifle to shoot at traffic.

Police arrived on scene and said in the report they spoke with a 31-year-old witness, who said he was sitting in his vehicle when it was struck by a rifle bullet at 8 Main Street. The witness was not listed as injured in the police report.

Officers searched the area and said they found several rifle bullets and a firearm.

No arrests were made in the incident and no suspects have been listed.
