Suspect on the run in Hillsdale County shooting that hospitalized deputy

HILLSDALE COUNTY, MI – A shooter who hospitalized a deputy in Hillsdale County Thursday remains at large, police said.

Troopers are on the scene of a shooting June 27 in the area of ​​Beecher and Lamb roads in Jefferson Township, Hillsdale County, according to Michigan State Police.

The MP was taken to a local hospital, police said.

The suspect is not in custody, police said, adding that the area is an active crime scene. Police advise avoiding the area at this time.

Multiple law enforcement agencies, including K9, air support and emergency teams, are at the scene, police said.
