Suspect on the run after stabbing in Mount Clemens

MOUNT CLEMENS (WWJ) – A Clinton Township man is on the run after a stabbing in Mount Clemens Wednesday morning that sent another man to the hospital.

Police were called to a home on Boehme Street around 7:15 a.m. after receiving reports of a stabbing.

The suspect, whose name and age have not been released, allegedly stabbed a 38-year-old Detroit man multiple times, according to the Macomb County Sheriff's Office.

Police have not released a photo or description of the suspect, who authorities said resided with the victim's ex-girlfriend in Mount Clemens.

Responding officers discovered the victim had multiple stab wounds to the abdomen. The victim told police he was on his way to his ex-girlfriend's home when he and the suspect got into an argument, which eventually escalated into violence.

The suspect reportedly fled the scene after being stabbed. Authorities were actively searching for the suspect Wednesday afternoon.

The victim was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and is listed in stable condition.

The Sheriff's Office believes the incident was isolated and that the community is not in danger regarding the suspect.
