Suspect on the loose after late night stabbing in south London

A man has been taken to hospital after being stabbed in the middle of the night in Brixton.

Emergency services were called to Streatham Place this morning (June 27) at 2.24am.

The stabbing victim, a man in his 40s, is believed to have been stabbed in Brixton Hill.

He was taken to a south London hospital where his injuries were assessed as not life-threatening or likely to change his life.

No arrests have been made and a police investigation is ongoing.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “Police were called by London Ambulance Service at 2.24am on Thursday 27 June to reports of a man suffering from stab wounds in Streatham Place, SW2.

“The man, aged in his 40s, was taken to a south London hospital where his injuries were assessed as not life-threatening or life-changing.

“He is believed to have been stabbed in Brixton Hill, SW9.

“No arrests have been made.

“Investigations are continuing.

“Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 quoting 758/27JUN or message @MetCC on X.”
