Suspect in stabbing and baton murder of ex-wife found guilty

Bosco Tukamuhabwa (Providence Police)

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – A Providence man has been convicted in Providence County Superior Court for the 2017 murder of his estranged wife.

Bosco Tukamuhabwa, 53, was found guilty of one count of second-degree domestic murder and one count of domestic criminal violation of a no-contact order in the murder of 51-year-old Maniriho Nkinamubanzi.

The incident occurred on November 9, 2017 when the victim's children reported her missing to Providence police.

The children found their mother dead in their bedroom closet the next day.

Police were called to the scene and determined the victim had signs of blunt force trauma as well as multiple stab wounds.

Blood spatters were also found on the wall outside the closet.

An analysis of Tukamuhabwa's cell phone placed it near the victim's home at the time of her murder.

19 items from the crime scene and the defendant's residence were tested for DNA, including several bloodstained items containing the defendant's and victim's DNA.

There had been an incident of physical violence in April 2017 which led to a no contact order.

“While nothing can erase the pain of losing their mother, I hope this verdict will bring Ms. Nkinamubanzi’s children some semblance of peace and the feeling that justice has finally been served,” said Attorney General Neronha.
