Suspect in series of South Shore stabbings sought in CT death investigation

A law enforcement source tells Boston 25 that the man wanted in Saturday's stabbing on the South Shore is also being investigated for his connection to a death in Connecticut.

Connecticut State Police responded to an address Saturday around 3:36 p.m. for a reported disturbance. When police arrived, they found a deceased person, who has not yet been identified.

A suspect in the investigation was taken into custody in Massachusetts, Connecticut State Police said Saturday evening. They did not identify the suspect as Ravizza.

“It seems like all hell suddenly broke loose in Deep River, Connecticut, which is a pretty laid-back town,” said Charlie Brashears, who lives near the crime scene.

Police said they responded to a disturbance call at a home in Deep River, Conn., and later found a man dead.

“Many, many, many police cars arrived and including they barricaded themselves, it looked like a little ambush there at first, they backed the two cars into two of my neighbors, and they were on the hoods, I don't know. I don’t know if they had weapons or not, but they were on the hoods and then they ended up barricading the area,” Brashears said.

Brashears says the suspect and victim were renting that house.

The neighbors heard them arguing a few days ago.

“They had both been living together for 2.5 weeks, it was as a VRBO, they had a few dogs,” Brashears explained.

Hours later, police arrested him in Sandwich after his series of stabbings on the South Shore.

“It’s hard to understand that,” Brashears said.

Ravizza will face several charges in Plymouth District Court on Tuesday, including assault with intent to murder and two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
