Prosecutors sentenced Geslicki to life, suspended for all but 60 years, with five years of supervised probation and an order to stay away from the victim's family after his release. Geslicki's attorney, Koryn High, told the court that although she had not yet made the offer known, she assumed it would be rejected based on her conversations with her client.

High also asked Judge Copeland for another reception hearing date to allow him more time to obtain an expert witness. The judge would give him a maximum of 30 days.

The lawyer agreed to reappear in the receiving court on June 28 to set Geslicki's trial.
