“We don't think this is a random kidnapping, we think these things are very rare in this country,” said Oklahoma County Sheriff Tommie Johnson, III. “I think she was a target.”

On Friday, deputies said two armed men forced Isabel Brown, 43, into their car near Northwest 178th Street and MacArthur Boulevard. Johnson said once the Kasey Alert was issued, the victim was dropped off around Interstate 40 and May Avenue.

“This notifies our citizens when events occur in real time,” Johnson said. “Our best eyes and ears are all of you in the community who see things unfold. »

According to the arrest warrant, FBI agents assisted and were able to extract four photos from the victim's Tesla car, one showing a black man “armed with a long rifle and did not have a mask.” Through facial recognition, Johnson says the suspect was identified as Kadarryus Caples, 23, of Fort Worth, Texas. The arrest warrant shows the victim chose Cables from a photo lineup using his driver's license photo.

“We value those relationships, so we certainly reach out to them when we think they have expertise, technology or resources that can help us in our efforts,” Johnson said of help from the FBI.

Until she was released, the court document also reveals the suspect beat and choked the victim until she lost consciousness and told her he was “going to kill her.”

“She’s still walking and talking, it’s never going to take away the trauma she went through,” Johnson said.

Investigators say the victim told them $250,000 was stolen from his car and another $10,000 from his Cash App account. Once the suspect is arrested, investigators hope to find the other suspects. It's unclear exactly how many were involved.

“I hope you take this person into custody and that through the questioning process we are able to obtain positive identification for the other people involved,” he said.

The suspect is wanted on charges of kidnapping, robbery and aggravated assault. Although the suspects are still there, Sheriff Johnson says this is not a random kidnapping and there is no threat to the community.
