Suspect arrested in north Austin stabbing incident: APD

AUSTIN, TXA suspect has been arrested in connection with a stabbing in north Austin.

Five people were stabbed Sunday evening at the Ivy apartment complex, located at 8912 N Lamar Blvd, near Payton Gin Road. None of the injuries were life-threatening, according to APD.

The arrest affidavit says one of the victims was listening to music next to his truck in the parking lot while the suspect, Hector Contreras-Uribe, 25, was grilling nearby with his brothers.

Contreras-Uribe began arguing with the victim because his music was too loud. The argument escalated when Contreras-Uribe picked up a rock and threw it at the victim, hitting him in the face.

They engaged in a physical fight during which Contreras-Uribe stabbed the victim multiple times. Contreras-Uribe's brothers tried to pull him away to break up the fight.

The victim's father then arrived and saw the three brothers around his son, thinking they were all fighting against him. He ran to help his son and was stabbed by Contreras-Uribe in the back and chest.

The victim then went to his truck, grabbed his knife and stabbed Contreras-Uribe to defend his father and himself. Contreras-Uribe and his brothers fled the scene and returned to their apartment.
