Suspect arrested in June 1 stabbing in Krutch Park, Knoxville, Tennessee, police say

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — A suspect in a Saturday evening stabbing in Krutch Park was arrested at the same park Tuesday afternoon, according to the Knoxville Police Department.

On Saturday, police responded to the scene of a stabbing in Krutch Park around 11:30 p.m. The victim was hospitalized but was able to tell police that he had been stabbed by a bald white man who had fled the area.


Tuesday afternoon, Knoxville police announced that David Moore, 60, had been arrested in connection with the shooting and charged with aggravated assault. Through continued investigation by KPD Homicide Unit detectives and a tip submitted to East Tennessee Valley Crime Stoppers, Moore was identified as a suspect.

He was located and detained Tuesday afternoon at Krutch Park. According to Knoxville police, the victim identified Moore as the suspect.

The victim, who was taken to UT Medical Center after the stabbing, remains in intensive care but is in stable condition, Knoxville police said.

This arrest is separate from the arrest in a second stabbing that occurred Monday evening in Krutch Park.
