Suspect arrested in hit-and-run at Walnut Creek Farmers Market

WALNUT CREEK — Police arrested a suspect Sunday afternoon following a hit-and-run at the Walnut Creek Farmers Market early Sunday morning that seriously injured two people.

A call was made to police at 5:15 a.m. about the crash, which happened on Locust Street near Cole Avenue.

Responding officers found two people hit by an SUV. The victims were transported to a hospital.

A police officer located the vehicle and arrested the driver. The names of the victims and driver have not been released pending an investigation.

The weekly farmers market was closed for the day due to the accident and ongoing investigation.
