Suspect arrested in connection with stabbing while graduating from high school

A suspect was arrested in connection with an argument that broke out outside a South El Monte High School graduation ceremony, leaving one man stabbed, sheriff's officials said Thursday.

The suspect's name was not immediately released and no further details were provided.

The assault happened around 9:20 p.m. on June 5 in the 1000 block of Durfee Avenue, just outside the fence of the school's football field, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
