Suspect arrested in connection with early morning stabbing in downtown Spokane

SPOKANE, Wash. – The Spokane Police Department (SPD) has arrested a man in connection with a stabbing incident in downtown Spokane.

According to SPD, on June 28, around 6:30 a.m., officers responded to a report of a stabbing following an altercation between two men near 200 South Division Street. Police said the suspect used a piece of broken glass to hit the victim.

During the altercation, one of the men was injured in the face. The suspect fled, prompting a search operation by the police.

The suspect was located walking east of the incident scene, but was initially uncooperative with SPD officers. However, he was later arrested without further incident.

Elisha Geiger, 24, was taken to the Spokane County Jail on charges of second-degree assault and obstruction. The victim, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries, was transported to a local hospital. Police noted that Geiger had previously been arrested for assault in the area.
