Suspect arrested in alleged loan shark murder

A 32-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of a seriously injured 23-year-old man who was abandoned outside the Northern District Hospital in Sheung Shui last Saturday, police said, adding that the suspect's accomplice is always in general.

Passers-by discovered the man lying unconscious on the sidewalk on Po Kin Road at around 5:49 a.m. He was rushed to hospital but was pronounced dead an hour later.

Sources at the scene said the victim told his parents he was going to a job interview before leaving the house on Friday. Authorities suspect the case could be linked to loan sharks.

At a press briefing yesterday, Acting Senior Superintendent of the New Territories North Headquarters Crime Unit Basil Tang Yick-kay said they had arrested a 32-year-old unemployed triad man for the murder presumed.

The suspect was apprehended at Tin Shui Wai on Sunday evening and is currently being detained for further questioning.

“After reviewing a large amount of surveillance footage, we identified a dark-colored private vehicle believed to be involved in transporting the victim to the scene,” Tang said, adding that the vehicle had a fake license plate. 'registration.

Police then located the Volkswagen sedan, registered to the 32-year-old suspect, parked in Wong Chuk Yuen village on Saturday evening. A search of the car revealed bloodstains and a stun gun.

“The bloodstains were then inspected,” Tang said.

The victim, aged 23, was unemployed and resided in Sau Mau Ping.

“Preliminary examination indicated that he suffered multiple injuries from blunt objects, fists and feet, although the official cause of death is pending autopsy results,” Tang said.

“The motive appears to be a financial dispute and we believe at least one accomplice is still at large. We are also investigating the victim's background and relationships with the suspects,” he added.
