Suspect arrested following fatal shooting in Wentzville

WENTZVILLE– One person is dead after a fatal late night shooting in Wentzville Tuesday evening.

The shooting happened in the 1300 block of Hidden Valley Drive around 10:30 p.m.
involving two men. Police are still on the scene, hours after the murder.

Investigators are still trying to piece together all the facts surrounding the shooting. When police arrived, they found one of the men suffering from a gunshot wound.

Police say medical professionals pronounced the man dead. The other man, believed to be the suspect in the shooting, fled before officers arrived on scene.

Authorities were notified that the suspect was still in the area through motion detection from a Ring camera, which helped identify the suspect and led police to apprehend him.

Police contacted a woman at the scene and she is cooperating with authorities. It's unclear what his relationship might be to those involved in the shooting.
