Suspect arrested after stabbing multiple girls at Braintree movie theater

BRAINTREE, Mass. (WWLP) – Authorities have a suspect in custody after several girls were stabbed in Braintree on Saturday.

Massachusetts State Police say a man stabbed several girls ages 9 to 17 at an AMC movie theater before leading police on a car chase to Cape Cod. Police say the suspect stabbed the victims in an unprovoked attack before leaving the theater. The victims were taken to hospital for their injuries.

Authorities also said the suspect was involved in a similar assault in Plymouth the same day, where he stabbed two other individuals at a McDonald's inside the Route 3 park and ride. the suspect's vehicle and attempted a traffic stop. The suspect did not stop and then crashed in Sandwich. He was then taken into custody.

Police have not yet released the identity or age of the suspect. 22News will continue to follow this story as more information becomes available.
