Suspect arrested after shooting in California City | News

Hill was booked into the Mohave County Jail in Kingman, Arizona, where he will await extradition to Kern County.

Hill was identified as a suspect in the May 29 shooting following an investigation.

Officers were called to reports of shots fired and a person possibly shot inside the fast food restaurant around 12:30 p.m. on May 29, according to a statement from the California city Police Department.

At the scene, officers found a man, later identified as Maurice Bailey, 48, on the floor of the restaurant and bleeding from an apparent gunshot wound to the head. Officers began lifesaving until paramedics from the California City Fire Department and Hall Ambulance took over.

Bailey was eventually transported to Antelope Valley Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries, police officials said.

After obtaining evidence, including video footage and witness statements, officers identified the suspect, Hill, and obtained an arrest warrant.

At the time, Hill was considered armed and dangerous and was attempting to flee the area.
