Suspect arrested after intentionally crushing pet rooster, police say – KION546

SAN BENITO COUNTY, Calif. (KION-TV) – Hollister Police Animal Protection Services arrested a 61-year-old woman who intentionally ran over their pet rooster.

Police say they received several reports of a woman kicking chickens and injuring one.

On May 23, several animal protection and services officers along with the San Benito County Sheriff's Office served an arrest warrant at a home located in the 2000 block of San Juan Canyon Road in the county Unincorporated San Benito.

While serving the arrest warrant, animal control officers noticed a strong odor of feces emanating from the residence, prompting them to obtain a search warrant for the property.

After obtaining the search warrant, animal control officers discovered two cats living in unsanitary conditions and without adequate supplies.
