Suspect and victim flee after stabbing in Long Beach

Long Beach police are investigating a stabbing that occurred Monday evening in Los Coyotes Diagonal.

LONG BEACH, Calif. — A physical fight escalated into a stabbing in Los Coyotes Diagonal Monday evening, Long Beach police said.

Police received a report of a stabbing in the 3500 block of Los Coyotes Diagonal around 6:45 p.m. When police arrived, only one witness remained at the scene.

“A witness reported that an adult male suspect and an adult male victim got into a physical altercation that escalated when the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim,” Long Beach police said in a statement.

The suspect and victim fled the scene before police arrived. However, after canvassing the area, evidence was found indicating the stabbing had taken place.

Police said they had no information on the identity of the suspect or the motive for the attack. The investigation is ongoing.
