Suspect accused of kidnapping 15-year-old Tulsa girl arrested in New York, TPD says | News

TULSA, Okla. — Tulsa police said a suspect accused of kidnapping a 15-year-old Tulsa girl was arrested Wednesday in New York.

Police said officers were called to a north Tulsa home for a missing person report around 11 a.m. Wednesday. A woman said her 15-year-old daughter had not been seen or heard from since 9:30 a.m.

Tulsa police investigated and determined that the 15-year-old had met the 25-year-old suspect online and had been communicating with him for several months. They also determined that the suspect obtained nude photos and videos of the victim during this period.

Tulsa Police detectives determined the suspect took a bus from Elmira, New York, to Tulsa to meet the 15-year-old girl. Police said the suspect then kidnapped her and returned with her to New York on Wednesday.

The suspect was arrested at LaGuardia International Airport in Queens, New York, early Thursday morning with the assistance of the Port Authority Police Benevolent Association Inc.

Tulsa police said the suspect and victim were both found in a secluded area of ​​an airport terminal.

The victim was taken into custody, received medical treatment and will be reunited with his family, police said.

“We are working closely with our federal partners who will be handling charges related to this case,” Tulsa police said in a Facebook post. “For this reason, we are unable to reveal the identity of the suspect at this time.”
