Cincinnati police are investigating a triple shooting in Winton Hills and WLWT News Five's Richard Chiles lives for us at the scene with what we know so far, RICHARD, bring us back up to speed here. You know Megan, hello. THIS SCENE IS STILL DEVELOPING AS POLICE CONTINUE IN THE EARLY PHASES OF THIS INVESTIGATION. Three people were shot this morning. We know that the criminal investigation section is on site. Homicide detectives work here too. And we also know that the coroner is there now. TWO VICTIMS TRANSPORTED TO THE UNIVERSITY MEDICAL CENTER ALSO. FOUR OFFICERS FROM THE CINCINNATI POLICE DISTRICT RECEIVED THIS CALL AROUND 3:30 AM THIS MORNING. REPORTS OF SHOOTING ON THE 5200 BLOCK OF HIGHLAND DRIVE. Officers from District Four again call the criminal investigation section as well as homicide detectives. He's the one actively working on this scene right now. RIGHT AWAY. POLICE ARE NOT RELEASING ANY INFORMATION ABOUT THE SUSPECT. But they repeat, the shooting took place at 3:30 a.m. They were alerted to the shots. Now it's the 5200 block of Holland Drive. THE SHOOTING, ACCORDING TO OFFICERS. AND THE OBJECTIVE OF THIS INVESTIGATION IS INSIDE A BUILDING. IN THIS YARD. OFFICERS HAVE STILL FOCUSED THEIR CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION SECTION, WITH DETECTIVES FOUR DISTRICT OFFICERS STILL CONFIRMING TWO PEOPLE TRANSPORTED TO THE UNIVERSITY MEDICAL CENTER. WE DON'T HAVE AN UPDATE ON THEIR CONDITION, BUT AGAIN, THE CORONER'S OFFICE IS HERE TOO. IT'S ALWAYS A SIGNIFICANT SIGN WHEN GUN VIOLENCE RESOUNDS IN THE CITY OF CINCINNATI. AND AGAIN, THE CORONER IS ANSWERING AN ADDRESS NOW, AS THE POLICE CONTINUE THEIR INVESTIGATION BY NOT RELEASING INFORMATION ON THE SUSPECTS, THEY CONTINUE TO ASK ANYONE WITH INFORMATION REGARDING THIS LATEST SHOOTING IN THE CITY OF CINCINNATI TO CONTACT THE CRIME STOPPERS NUMBER. 5113352 3040. This morning, a child was rushed to the Cincinnati Children's Center after a house fire in Fairfield. THE FIRE STARTED AROUND 8:00 P.M. YESTERDAY NIGHT ALONG BOB MEYER ROAD. THE FAIRFIELD FIRE CHIEF TELLS US A CHILD WAS BURNED AND TAKEN TO CINCINNATI CHILDREN'S WITH POSSIBLE LIFE-THREATENING INJURIES. NO ONE ELSE WAS INJURED HERE AND THE CAUSE OF THIS FIRE IS STILL UNDER INVESTIGATION. THE SUSPECT RELATED TO THE OFFICER-INVOLVED SHOOTING INSIDE THIS KROGER STORE IN COLERAIN TOWNSHIP IS OUT OF HOSPITAL AND NOW FACING CHARGES. This morning, Hamilton County Prosecutor Melissa Powers says it started when Colerain Township officers were in the middle of a nearby drug investigation. Officers say they saw Joseph Van Neiman involved in what they believe was drug dealing. Power said the officers followed him across the street to the Kroger parking lot. When told to stop, Neiman turned around, holding out his gun. Power says that's when the officers pulled out their guns and Van Neiman ran into that store. THE OFFICERS AND THE SUSPECT then exchanged gunfire. He was shot and a passerby was also hit by shrapnel. We're told by a retired police chief that our officers train like training for times like this. IN THIS SITUATION, QUICK AND QUICK UNFOLD, I DON'T KNOW WHAT THE OFFICER SAID INSIDE, BUT THE TRAINING WOULD TELL YOU, ANNOUNCE THE POLICE OFFICERS TO LEAVE THE WEAPON, STOP, WHICH WOULD INDICATE AS WELL AS EVERYONE THERE IS A DANGER HERE FOR ESCAPE OR HIDE.
