stolen horse trailer found, drugs and weapons seized

NATCHITOCHES, La. (KALB) – The Natchitoches Parish Sheriff's Office said two men were arrested June 4 in connection with the theft of a horse trailer.

NPSO first began investigating after receiving a tip from a source in Texas and images of a stolen horse trailer, apparently in the Natchitoches area. The trailer was initially reported stolen to the Lancaster Police Department, near Dallas, Texas.

Detectives also learned that the trailer was believed to have been pulled by a black-colored pickup truck. After canvassing the Natchitoches area for several days, they located the truck and stolen horse trailer and were able to arrest two men on Tuesday, June 4.

NPSO arrested 31-year-old Onterio D. Pier and 33-year-old Charles L. Brown.

Agents with the Natchitoches Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force obtained a search warrant and searched the vehicles.

Agents discovered:

  • 1000 MDMA ecstasy tablets
  • 4 grams of suspected cocaine
  • More than 100 fentanyl pills
  • 1 gram of marijuana
  • A stolen gun

Pier and Brown were booked into the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center.

The stolen horse trailer has been impounded and its owner is in the process of getting it back.

This investigation is ongoing.
