Stolen cooking oil, 4 people arrested for suspected drunk driving: Newtown Township. Police

NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, Pa. — The Newtown Township Police Department reported the following incidents and arrests between June 1 and June 6:

June 1

  • At approximately 2:45 a.m., police conducted a traffic stop on the driver of a Nissan Pathfinder for committing a vehicle violation in the area of ​​Newtown Bypass and Woodbourne Road. While speaking with the driver, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The driver was unable to satisfactorily complete field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence. Suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia were discovered and seized as evidence. The driver refused to submit to a blood test for chemical testing. Charges are pending.

June 2

  • At approximately 9:45 a.m., police conducted a traffic stop on the driver of a Honda Pilot for committing a vehicle violation in the area of ​​Newtown Bypass and Woodbourne Road. As a result of the investigation, the driver was taken into custody on an active arrest warrant from the Bucks County Sheriff's Department and transferred without incident.

June 3

  • At approximately 3:45 a.m., police conducted a traffic stop on a Ford Edge driver for committing a vehicle violation in the area of ​​Washington Crossing and Stoopville roads. As a result of the investigation, narcotics and drug paraphernalia were discovered and seized as evidence. Charges are pending.
  • At approximately 6:30 p.m., police conducted a traffic stop on a Honda Pilot driver for committing a vehicle violation in the 200 block of Stoopville Road. While speaking with the driver, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The driver was unable to satisfactorily complete field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending the results of blood evidence.

June 6

  • Around 11:15 a.m., police were dispatched to report a theft of cooking oil. An investigation is currently underway.
  • Around 1:30 p.m., police were dispatched to a theft at an Ulta Beauty store in the village of Newtown Mall. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
