Stolen boats recovered by sheriff's investigators after search warrant

A search warrant executed by Garland County sheriff's investigators recovered three stolen pontoon boats and other watercraft Wednesday, according to a news release issued Friday.

The Garland County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division executed a search warrant at 6037 Central Ave on Wednesday. after an investigation by Investigator Isaiah Mayo led investigators to that address for stolen property, Sgt. John Schroeder, the department's public information officer, said in the release.

During the execution of the search warrant, investigators were able to discover a pontoon boat believed to be stolen from Garland County. This discovery led investigators to check other pontoon boats and personal watercraft on the property, according to the release.

Investigators were able to locate a total of three pontoon boats and two personal watercraft with a total value of $69,000, the release states.

“This is a great example of a great investigative team and why we needed additional patrol officers for the county,” Garland County Sheriff Mike McCormick said in the release.

“Having more deputies on the street can and will prevent these criminals from committing these thefts and preying on innocent people in Garland County.”
