State Police Arrest Suspect in Multiple Power Tool Shopliftings in New Castle County; One remains at large – Delaware State Police

Delaware State Police arrested 35-year-old man Robert Williams of New Castle, Delaware, on multiple shoplifting charges following a series of power tool thefts primarily from Home Depot stores in New Castle County over the past several months. Police are asking for help locating his co-conspirator (pictured above), aged 33. Brandon Williamswho remains at large.

Between August 22, 2023 and May 5, 2024, officers investigated several shoplifting incidents of a similar nature from home improvement stores in the New Castle County area. During each shoplifting incident, an unknown white suspect took various power tools and left the business without paying. Through investigative means, police identified Robert Williams as the suspect responsible for 18 shoplifting incidents of power tools from multiple Home Depot locations in New Castle County. Additionally, officers identified Williams as the suspect responsible for 2 additional shoplifting incidents in New Castle County; one of which consisted of power tools from Lowes and the other of various household items from Walgreens. The 20 shoplifting incidents, which took place primarily in March and April of this year, totaled more than $23,200 in merchandise stolen. In 4 of the 18 Home Depot shoplifting incidents, Williams committed shoplifting with a co-conspirator, identified as Brandon Williams.

Thanks to several anonymous tips from Delaware Crime Stoppers, Robert Williams was located and taken into custody by Probation and Parole on May 22, 2024, on arrest warrants issued by the Delaware State Police , the Middletown Police Department, the New Castle City Police Department and New Castle County. Superior Court. Brandon Williams has not been located at this time. Officers are asking for the public's help in locating Brandon Williams, who has multiple warrants issued for his arrest by the Delaware State Police, the Middletown Police Department and the County Superior Court. New Castle.

Robert Williams was charged with the crimes listed below, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 11, and incarcerated in the Howard R. Young Correctional Facility on $13,501 secured bond. The charges listed are only those issued by the Delaware State Police.
