Star Wars fans mock Disney with old Australian insurance ad that shows lightsabers better than sidekick

In the vast heritage of Star Wars franchise, the lightsaber is an iconic weapon. Famous around the world among fans of the Space Opera franchise, the lightsaber represents power, grace, tradition and so much more. While fans were certainly amazed when George Lucas first introduced them, their affection for the weapon hasn't been up to par since Disney took over as steward.

After Disney purchased the franchise from Lucas, there were glaring inconsistencies and more in the Star Wars universe. But what has irked fans recently is the way lightsabers are depicted in The Acolyteconsidering how well a recently discovered Australian insurance advert treated the legendary weapon.

First introduced in 1977 Star Wars: A New Hope, the lightsaber has become one of the most recognizable elements of the entire franchise. Crafted by George Lucas, these swords represent the mystical power of the Jedi and the ominous threat of the Sith, making these weapons an integral part of the Star Wars myth.

Although the transition to CGI has somewhat changed the way these lightsabers are depicted, their fundamental essence has failed under Disney's leadership. After acquiring Lucasfilm, the Mouse House faced harsh criticism for the way it handled the hit franchise. Although there have been several errors recently with the release of The Acolytea new debate begins on lightsabers. The Acolyte not only does the glow sticks shine too brightly, but fans feel like lightsabers have lost all of their true features since Disney took over.

In contrast, an old Australian insurance commercial knows and understands lightsabers better than Disney ever did. Featuring a dog running away with a lightsaber in its mouth, the ad, while exaggerating a bit, makes it perfectly clear that lightsabers are meant to be deadly sticks and murder weapons instead of glow sticks that glow in the dark..

Fans say insurance company's ad is better than Disney's Star Wars

Since Disney took over the Star Wars franchise, loyal fans of the George Lucas-created franchise have found several problems with the way the company has handled the space opera mythos. Although there have been some impeccable films and series, the overall fan response has been negative.

Recently, when the Australian Insurance Company advert went viral on the internet, fans were quick to point out how well the advert understood the concept of lightsabers compared to how Disney handled the dreaded death sticks !

Although Disney is a billion-dollar studio, it's shocking that the Mouse House failed to capture the concept and feel of Star Wars despite all these years. As the old Australian insurance ad poignantly recalls how the original Star Wars It was, it's time for Disney to pay attention to the needs of Star Wars Fans!

THE Star Wars franchise, including The Acolyte, can be streamed on Disney+.
