Star of BBC's The Missing Joins Harlan Coben's New Netflix Show

Harlan Coben's new Netflix show Missing You has added a number of new actors, including The Missing's James Nesbitt.

The upcoming series, announced earlier this year, follows a detective (Rosalind Eleazar) whose world is turned upside down when her presumed missing husband appears on a dating app.

Netflix has now confirmed a few new additions to the cast, including Nesbitt as Calligan, as well as Busted member Matt Willis as Darryl.

Top Boy's Ashley Walters has also been officially confirmed to be Josh Buchanan, after he was spotted filming earlier this year.

The full synopsis for the series reads: “Eleven years ago, Detective Kat Donovan’s fiancé Josh – the love of her life – disappeared and she has never heard from him since.

“Now, while browsing profiles on a dating app, she suddenly sees his face and her world explodes again. Josh's reappearance will force her to delve back into the mystery surrounding her father's murder and uncover secrets that have been buried since a long time from his past.”

As well as the aforementioned stars, Missing You will feature Fool Me Once's Richard Armitage, EastEnders' Jessica Plummer, The Rings of Power's Lenny Henry, Inside No.9's Steve Pemberton and Sexy Beast's Paul Kaye.

Speaking recently to digital spyArmitage suggested the series could be dropped early next year.

“I think it will be in the same niche [as Fool Me Once] Next year I think it will be January 1st. I guess!” he said.

“I'm playing the role of the chief detective inspector opposite an old friend of mine, who I played Uncle Vanya with, Rosalind Eleazar, who is the lead actress in this series. And she's great, she's Absolutely brilliant.”

Missing You will be streamed on Netflix.
