Stacey Solomon shares her teenage pregnancy ordeal and visit to an abortion clinic

Stacey Solomon has opened up about her teenage pregnancy, revealing she visited an abortion clinic to explore her options before deciding to have her first child.

Stacey then sought advice from her parents, who supported her whatever choice she made but refrained from giving direct advice, a response she found “horrible”. The beloved TV personality was just 18 when she became pregnant with her eldest son, Zachary, with her former partner Dean Cox. Stacey and her husband Joe Swash have a blended family of six.

She is mother to sons Zachary, 16, and Leighton, 12, from previous relationships, as well as son Rex, five, Rose, two, and little Belle, one, whom she shares with Joe.

In a candid chat on Caroline Hirons' Glad We Had This Chat podcast, the mother-of-five said: “It was my first sexual encounter. When I had to tell my dad [about being pregnant] I was really scared, but I think deep down I knew he would be okay. This is something I always tell my children: come see me. Either way, I'm the only one who won't disown you. And I think deep down I knew that.”

She went on to discuss her parents' approach, reports the Mirror: “I knew they would also know the answer to what I should do. And they gave me all the options. And you know what? My My dad and mom took me to an abortion clinic to find out what my options were and what I could do – and they didn't give me any advice. They said, “Yeah, that's you!” who makes this decision,' which I found quite horrible. Tell me what to do and I'll do it.'”

Caroline interjected, “And you'd probably blame them now?” to which Stacey replied: “I think whatever decision I would have made, I would have blamed them. So they knew what they were doing and they said, 'It's up to you decide, we will support you whatever your choice.' you make.' Stacey, 34, chose to continue her pregnancy and is the proud mother of 16-year-old Zachary. She also has a 12-year-old son, Leighton, from her previous relationship with Aaron Barnham.

When asked if she had finished expanding her brood, Stacey playfully hinted: “I have and I haven't.” She then confessed that she and Joe hadn't planned for their youngest, Belle, admitting the news came as a “shock”.

She explained: “We weren't planning on having another baby. We were definitely planning a break. Rex and Rose were only a few years apart and Rose was about six months old. But yeah, apparently you don't. only need to have sex once and you will literally get pregnant.

Stacey continued: “And we didn't know for ages because I was still breastfeeding Rose. So I still have Rose's baby weight, so nothing has changed. But then Rose celebrated her first birthday and I stopped breastfeeding. Then it took a while for my period to come back and I was like, God, it usually comes right back.

Although she has juggled a successful career in the fashion, beauty and homeware fields, as well as TV appearances on shows like ITV's Loose Women and the BBC's Sort Your Life Out, Stacey Solomon confessed his ultimate ambition.

She revealed: “Every year I have a meeting with my agent and this year when they asked me my five-year goals. I was like: I want to be a stay-at-home mom.

“It's like my dream, my ultimate dream. I just want to be with my kids. It's conflicting because I also want to achieve my dreams and my goals and the things that I'm passionate about. Because if I don't have that, will I feel dissatisfied? So what I'm trying to do at this point is make sure that whatever I'm working on, I can work on 90% of the time at home and then just do exciting projects outside the home.
