Stabbing victim outside hospital after fatal fight

An investigation into a large fight at a Lake Berryessa picnic area in which one man died and several others were injured continued Sunday, with no arrests made, according to the Napa County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies responded at 5:30 p.m. Saturday to the 5500 block of Knoxville Road in Oak Shores, where paramedics airlifted two stabbing victims to hospitals. Family and friends drove other injured people away, authorities said.

One of the two stabbing victims flown by helicopter was released from the hospital and the other victim remained hospitalized Sunday morning, sheriff's spokesman Henry Wofford said. The victim's condition was not available.

The identity of the man who was fatally shot has not yet been released, pending a full autopsy scheduled for Monday, Wofford said.

“We do not have a list of suspects or suspects at this time,” Wofford said. “We are continuing our investigation and our main goal is to speak to witnesses and victims.”

Authorities are investigating what caused the fight and are asking witnesses to contact 707-253-4504 if they have video or eyewitness accounts of the incident.
