Stabbing victim filed at Des Moines hospital, DMPD investigating

DES MOINES, Iowa — A stabbing victim was dropped off at a Des Moines hospital Thursday evening, Des Moines police said.

At approximately 5:30 p.m., the Des Moines Police Department received a report of a stabbing victim who had been dropped off by private vehicle at a Des Moines hospital. The victim's condition is unknown at this time.

Officers are now searching a potential crime scene in the 1700 block of University Avenue. Police say there is no indication of ongoing danger to the community.

The investigation into the stabbing is ongoing and further information will be released as it becomes available.
