Stabbing suspect entered elementary school campus: KCSO

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A 38-year-old man allegedly stabbed someone then entered the campus of a southeast Bakersfield elementary school before being taken into custody.

Ronald Lawrence Lamb II was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of attempted murder, elder abuse, violent confinement and other crimes, according to sheriff's officials and inmate records. He is due to appear in court on Thursday.

Tuesday around 3:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 500 block of East Casa Loma Drive on a report of a stabbing, sheriff's spokeswoman Lori Meza said. They arrived to find a man suffering from a stab wound and learned that the suspect, Lamb, had fled toward the school campus.

Bakersfield police officers arrived at the school and Lamb was arrested, Meza said. He has no prior criminal cases in Kern County, according to court records.
