Stabbing sends two to hospital and woman faces assault charges | Crime and courts

PADUCAH, Ky. — A person is facing assault charges after being accused of stabbing and cutting others over the weekend.

The Paducah Police Department said they responded to the 2300 block of Ohio Street for a report of unknown trouble. Paducah police said in a news release that they later learned there had been an argument. During that argument, Osheonna S. Garnett, 23, of Paducah, allegedly stabbed one person in the abdomen and then cut a second victim who tried to break up the fight.

Police said the first stabbing victim had life-threatening injuries and was flown to a Louisville hospital for further treatment. The victim is said to be stable in hospital.

Authorities said the second victim was treated at a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Garnett was arrested on charges of 1st degree assault and 2nd degree assault, Paducah police said.
