A machete attack left one person injured Thursday afternoon in Midtown Manhattan, according to local media, after which cops began searching for three men. New York Police Department (NYPD) officials believe the suspects who carried out the daylight attack remain at large. The attack took place in a McDonald's restaurant, in the heart of the Times Square commercial hub. The man, who was injured during the incident, was later transported to a local hospital.

Following the machete attack, cops arrested several people in the area of ​​Sixth Avenue, West 52nd Street and 660 Fifth Avenue, according to a report from ABC 7 NY. The victim was stabbed in both legs, the report added. The three suspects, still on the run, fled after attacking the unidentified victim with a machete.

The motive for the attack on New York's Broadway, during a busy afternoon, was unclear. NYPD officials will release a statement soon. Meanwhile, an investigation is underway while the victim is being treated at Bellevue Hospital. The man is in stable condition.
